Aurora boosted by Brooks-Potts' play in net, beats Cobourg 3-1Cobourg Community Centre Mon, Oct 12, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Alex Brooks-Potts stood on his head and made 35 saves to lead the Aurora Tigers to a 3-1 victory over the Cobourg Cougars. Aurora was sparked by Daniel Mantenuto, who finished with one goal and one assist. Mantenuto scored 12:05 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Aurora. Drake Board provided the assist. The Tigers stifled Cobourg's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Aurora forced the Cougars goalie Stefano Durante to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Aurora also had goals scored by Mark Rozanov and Keegan Matthew, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Liam Ham, Matthew Tozer, and Austin Gerhart, who contributed one each. Cobourg could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Cougars put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Cobourg's offense rang up 36 shots on the Tigers' net. The Cougars were led by Patrick MacDonald, who scored the team's only goal. MacDonald scored 13:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg. Kallen McFarland assisted on the tally. Aurora incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Durante rejected 31 shots on goal for Cobourg. The Cougars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
