Kosack's big game bests St. Michaels in 7-3 Oakville win

The Oakville Blades' Josh Kosack had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-3 win over the St. Michaels Buzzers.

Kosack found the back of the net on the power play 1:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oakville and again while 16:00 into the second to make the score 6-1 Oakville.

Oakville forced Buzzers' goaltenders to work between the pipes, racking up 45 shots and forcing 38 saves. Mark Manolescu made 24 stops and Jacob McGrath made 14. The Blades found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Oakville averages 3.7 goals per contest. The Blades capitalized on St. Michaels' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

Oakville also got points from Patrick Kudla, who also finished with one goal and four assists to lead the team in points and Ethan Nother, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Oakville also had goals scored by Bryce Misley, Jackson Bales, and Christian Rajic, who scored one goal each. More assists for Oakville came via Brendan Doherty, Tyler Rollo, Nicholas Alvaro, and Drew Worrad, who each chipped in one and Eric Holland and Ryan Garvey, who contributed two each.

Others who scored for St. Michaels included Finn Evans, Noah Jordan, and Michael Andlauer, who each put in one. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Lucas Derose, Lucas Breault, Sean Kohler, and Dalton Barnes, who each chipped in one.

Brendan McGlynn made 20 saves for Oakville on 23 shots. The Blades incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Buzzers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and had no power play opportunities.
