Lindsay wins tough contest against Kingston, 3-2

The Lindsay Muskies gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Kingston Voyageurs.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Cameron Robinson at 11:40 of the third period.

Lindsay was paced by Robinson, who finished with one goal.

The Muskies' offense rang up 35 shots on Kingston's net.

Others who scored for Lindsay included Kristopher Diclemente and Brock Traill, who each put in one. More assists for Lindsay came via Owen Barnett and Stuart Fierheller, who contributed one each and Matt Tustin and Brandon Washer, who each chipped in two.

The Voyageurs forced Lindsay goalie Boyd Diclemente to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Kingston could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Voyageurs were helped by Matthew Lourenco, who registered one goal. Lourenco scored 8:57 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kingston. Jack Zielinski picked up the assist. Danny Bosio also scored for Kingston. In addition, Kingston received assists from Reid Russell, who had one.

The Muskies' Diclemente stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Lindsay incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. David Richer rejected 32 shots on goal for Kingston. The Voyageurs registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
