Kingston outlasts Aurora, 3-2INVISTA Center Thu, Oct 08, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Kingston Voyageurs escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Aurora Tigers. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Brandon Nadeau secured the win for Kingston with a goal in the third period. The Voyageurs were paced by Nadeau, who tallied one goal. Nadeau scored short handed 19:35 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Kingston. Kingston was on a disadvantage when Cole Beckstead went off the ice for slashing. Mason Corliss assisted on the tally. The Voyageurs stifled Aurora's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kingston forced the Tigers goalie Joshua Boyko to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Kingston additionally got points from Colin Tonge, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Connor Cobbold, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Kingston received assists from Connor Bebb, who had two. Aurora excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Tigers kept the Voyageurs' goalie busy throughout the game, and David Richer made 31 saves on 33 shots. Aurora was helped by Mark Rozanov, who registered one goal. Rozanov scored 1:50 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kingston. Drake Board picked up the assist. Aurora also got points from Board, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Evan Kearns, who had one. Kingston incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Tigers' Boyko stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Aurora incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
