Trenton rips Pickering, 6-2Pickering Recreation Complex Sun, Oct 04, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Trenton Golden Hawks had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Pickering Panthers. Trenton's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Pickering power plays. The Golden Hawks kept Pickering's goalie busy throughout the game, and Paul Giusti made 30 saves on 36 shots. Trenton surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Golden Hawks average 3.9 goals per contest. The defensemen of Trenton were also effective in the Panthers' zone, and came away with three goals. The Golden Hawks were helped by Spencer Herbst, who had one goal. Herbst scored on the power play 17:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Trenton. A holding penalty on Marco Azzano had put Trenton on the power play. Liam Morgan assisted on the tally. Trenton also got points from Adam Clements, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Trenton included Mitch Emerson, who had two and Lucas Brown and Quinn Lenihan, who scored one goal each. In addition, Trenton received assists from Owen Ramsay and Ben Scheel, who contributed one each and Danny Hanlon and Hunter Fargey, who each chipped in two. Pickering could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. Pickering also got a goal from Kyle Gentles as well. More assists for Pickering came via John Hudgin, Owen Scuralli, Tiger McDonald, and Chris Sekelyk, who contributed one each. The Golden Hawks' Daniel Urbani stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Trenton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
