Whitby falls to Wellington in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Wellington Dukes' Luc Brown scored 42 seconds into overtime to beat the Whitby Fury, 5-4 (OT).

Wellington got the win with help from a great game by Brown, who had one goal and three assists.

Others who scored for Wellington included Ben Sokay, who had two and Dylan Mascarin and Nick Devito, who each put in one. More assists for Wellington came via Jake Falcao, who had two and Carter Allen, Chase St Aubin, Jacob Panetta, and Brodie Maracle, who each chipped in one.

Whitby kept the Dukes' goalie busy throughout the game, and Austin Washkurak made 32 saves on 36 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

The Fury were led by Kevin Dimagno, who registered one goal and one assist. Dimagno scored 18:32 into the third period to make the score 4-4. Ryan Heeps picked up the assist. Whitby also had goals scored by Steven Elliott, Ryan Porter, and Rylee McKinnon, who scored one goal each. In addition, Whitby received assists from Justin Brand, who had two and Ryan Sarris, Scott Kirton, and Ryan Taylor, who contributed one each.

Wellington incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jordon White made 25 saves for Whitby on 30 shots. The Fury incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
