Rinaldi's big game bests Aurora in 5-2 Kingston winAurora Community Centre Fri, Oct 02, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kingston Voyageurs' Anthony Rinaldi had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 5-2 win over the Aurora Tigers. Rinaldi got on the board by slotting home a goal 1:36 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kingston. Ian Harris picked up the assist. Rinaldi dished an assist on Danny Bosio's goal that made the score 1-1 at 16:23 into the first period. He added another helper on Bosio's goal that made the score 2-1 Kingston at 18:33 into the first period.Kingston pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 33 penalty minutes. The Voyageurs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Aurora to score on any of its seven power plays. Kingston additionally got points from Bosio, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Kingston included Colin Tonge and Brandon Nadeau, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kingston received assists from Jacob Hanlon, Connor Bebb, and Connor Cobbold, who contributed one each. The Tigers did not rack up many penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and one major for 19 minutes in penalty time. Aurora finished with less than its 24.0 minutes average penalties per game. The Tigers were helped by Alex Formenton, who had one goal. Formenton scored 2:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. Keaton Ratcliffe provided the assist. Aurora also got a goal from Mark Rozanov as well. More assists for Aurora came via Evan Kearns, Daniel Mantenuto, and Todd Winder, who each chipped in one. David Richer recorded 27 saves for Kingston. The Voyageurs registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For Kingston, Reed Kekewich was ejected from the game. Alex Brooks-Potts made 19 saves for Aurora on 24 shots. The Tigers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nolan Dunn was ejected from the game.
