Georgetown rolls over Mississauga, 5-1Malton Arena Mon, Dec 14, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Mississauga Chargers had trouble finding ways to stop the Georgetown Raiders, which beat Chargers, 5-1. Mississauga was stymied by Georgetown's netminder Andrew Masters, who stopped 43 shots during the victory. Masters certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.97 entering the contest. The Raiders pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 43 penalty minutes. Georgetown forced the Chargers' goalies to work in net, firing 58 shots and forcing 53 saves. Tyler Richardson made five stops and Andrew Cipollone made 48. Team could not crack Mississauga's penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage. The Raiders were led by Arran MacDonald, who grabbed one goal and one assist. MacDonald scored 7:00 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown. Andrew Court picked up the assist. Others who scored for Georgetown included Bailey Molella, Daniel Hardie, Matthew Thom, and Brendan Jacome, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Austin Cho, who had two and Jake Payette, Jordan Crocker, Ashur Elliot, Jack Jacome, and Anthony Mota, who contributed one each. The Chargers' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 11 minors and two majors for 62 minutes in penalty time. Mississauga had been averaging 24.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Chargers' offense rang up 44 shots on Georgetown's net. Mississauga was led by Aidan Parker, who scored the team's only goal. Parker scored on the power play 11:01 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. A boarding penalty on Zack Dybowski had put the Chargers on the power play. Jaimen Allison assisted on the tally. For the Raiders, Kyle Allan was ejected from the game. Mississauga registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Team's Jake Harrison and Francesco Luca were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
