The Aurora Tigers had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-2 win over the Mississauga Chargers. Drake Board was all over the ice for Aurora, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Board scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 9:49 into the second period to make the score 7-1 Aurora. The Tigers had gotten the advantage when Mississauga's Alexandros Acosta was sent off for cross checking. Keaton Ratcliffe provided the assist. Board's next tally on the power play made the score 8-2 Aurora with 18:57 left in the third period. Evan Kearns picked up the assist. Aurora excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Tigers forced the Chargers goalie Andrew Cipollone to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. Aurora bested its season scoring average. The Tigers average 3.1 goals per game. Aurora's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. Aurora also got points from Kearns, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Liam Ham, who also had one goal and one assist, and Todd Winder, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Aurora included Jordan DaSilva, Keegan Matthew, Nolan Dunn, and Jacob Piltzmaker, who scored one goal each. In addition, Aurora received assists from James Thomson, who had three, Daniel Mantenuto, who had four, and David Pearce, Alex Boudreau, Liam Neuman, and Matthew Galli, who each chipped in one. Mississauga's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. The Chargers had been averaging 23.0 minutes in penalties per game. Joshua Boyko recorded 26 saves for the Tigers. Aurora totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. For the Tigers, Kearns was ejected from the game. Mississauga's Cipollone stopped 34 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Chargers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jaimen Allison was ejected from the game.
