Cobourg blows out Milton, 11-1

The Milton Icehawks had trouble finding ways to stop the Cobourg Cougars, which beat Icehawks, 11-1.

Cobourg was led by Connor Inger, who had one goal. Inger scored 14:57 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cobourg. Brenden Locke provided the assist.

The Cougars forced Milton's goalies to work without much rest, totaling 44 shots and forcing 33 saves. Jakob DeVincentis made 14 stops and Marcus Semiao made 19. Cobourg surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Cougars average 3.5 goals per game. Cobourg's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

Cobourg also got points from Josh Argier, who also registered one goal and one assist and Locke, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Cobourg also had goals scored by Russell Nowry, who had three, Brennan Roy, who had two, and Matthew Bumstead and Patrick MacDonald, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Cobourg were Josh Hopkin, Sam Dunn, and Mac Lowry, who each chipped in one and Robert Orlando, Ryan OGrady, Rory Milne, and Anthony Salemi, who contributed two each.

Tyler Lewis rejected 14 shots on goal for the Cougars. Cobourg incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Icehawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
