Lindsay outlasts Mississauga, 5-3

The Lindsay Muskies gutted out a close 5-3 win against the Mississauga Chargers.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Cedric Ralph secured the win for Lindsay with a goal in the second period.

Ralph had a great game for the Muskies, netting two goals.

Lindsay's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Mississauga power plays. The Muskies forced Mississauga goalie Tyler Richardson to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Lindsay outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Muskies average 2.1 goals per contest.

Lindsay also got points from Brock Traill, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lindsay also had goals scored by Josh Wainman and Zach Treen, who each put in one. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Hunter Hotrum, Owen Barnett, Brandon Washer, and Austin Eastman, who each chipped in one.

The Chargers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Lindsay to score on any of its four power plays.

Mississauga was led by Thomas Lattavo, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Lattavo scored 12:36 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Brady Grenon provided the assist. Others who scored for Mississauga included Steve Mariani and Zachery Ribau, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Mississauga were Michael Dischiavi, Shane Beaulieu, and Brandon Yeamans, who contributed one each.

Boyd Diclemente made 25 saves for the Muskies on 28 shots. Lindsay incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Chargers' Richardson stopped 35 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Mississauga incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
