Burlington downs Aurora in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Burlington Cougars' Ben Morris scored 4:18 into overtime to beat the Aurora Tigers, 4-3 (OT).

Burlington was paced by Morris, who racked up one goal and one assist.

Aurora was unable to stop the Cougars from sending pucks towards the net, and Burlington eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Burlington also got points from Willy Paul, who also had one goal and one assist. Burlington also had goals scored by Jordan Peacock and Mike Faliero, who each put in one. In addition, Burlington received assists from David Thomson, Devin Pierce, Nathan Gomes, and Daniel Volpe, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Aurora was helped by Nolan Dunn, who finished with one goal. Dunn scored 8:59 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Matthew Galli picked up the assist. Others who scored for Aurora included Drake Board and Darren Iwai, who scored one goal each. More assists for Aurora came via Evan Kearns, Matthew Tozer, and Todd Winder, who contributed one each.

The Cougars' Andrew Lee stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Burlington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Alex Brooks-Potts recorded 40 saves for the Tigers. Aurora totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Tigers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Alex Boudreau was ejected from the game.
