Pickering rolls over Burlington, 5-2

The Burlington Cougars had trouble finding ways to stop the Pickering Panthers, which beat Cougars, 5-2.

Pickering was helped by Owen Scuralli, who racked up one goal. Scuralli scored 3:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pickering. Andrew Hughes provided the assist. Pickering also got points from John Hudgin, who also had one goal and one assist, Marco Azzano, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Chris Sekelyk, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Kyler Challis also scored for Pickering. In addition, Pickering received assists from Doug Carter and Michael Kelaiditis, who contributed one each.

Burlington did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Cougars average 4.3 goals per game. Burlington got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Cougars were helped by Nicholas Holt, who grabbed one goal. Holt scored 19:43 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Pickering. Devin Pierce picked up the assist. Burlington also got a goal from Willy Paul as well. Other players who recorded assists for Burlington were Jordan Peacock, Jack Jeffers, and Daniel Volpe, who each chipped in one.

Graham Schropp rejected 26 shots on goal for the Panthers. Pickering incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Andrew Lee recorded 24 saves for Burlington. The Cougars incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
