Baggetta, North York blank Mississauga, 4-0

The North York Rangers used a sparkling performance by Gianluca Baggetta to take down the Mississauga Chargers, as the netminder did not allow a goal in North York's 4-0 shutout victory.

The Rangers were sparked by Nick Campoli, who finished with one goal. Campoli scored on the power play 16:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North York. North York had gotten the advantage when Mississauga's Jaimen Allison was sent off for cross checking. Keegan Blasby provided the assist.

The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. North York's defense was surprisingly good. The Rangers allow 3.0 goals per game. The Chargers were unable to stop North York from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 46 shots on goal.

North York also got a goal from Ryan Hunt as well. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Jeremy Szabo, Jacob DeMaeyer, Will Calverley, Ted Hunt, Kyle Clarke, Walker Hincenbergs, and Nick Zanette, who contributed one each.

Mississauga was held below its usual level of production. The Chargers average 3.3 goals per game. Mississauga forced North York goalie Baggetta to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Baggetta recorded 36 saves for the Rangers. North York incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Tyler Richardson made 42 saves for the Chargers on 46 shots. Mississauga incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
