St. Michaels downs Oakville in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The St. Michaels Buzzers' A.J. Dorazio scored 2:02 into overtime to beat the Oakville Blades, 5-4 (OT).

St. Michaels overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Buzzers fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Oakville's Brendan DAgostino at 9:56 in the first period. St. Michaels tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Noah Jordan at 13:05 in the third period.

The Buzzers got the win behind a great game by Jordan, who had two goals and one assist. Jordan scored the first of his two goals at 15:48 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Thomas Beretta picked up the assist. Jordan's next tally made the score 4-4 with 6:55 left in the third period. Beretta assisted on the tally.

St. Michaels put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Blades to score on any of their five power plays. The Buzzers forced Oakville goalie Michael Botiz to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

St. Michaels additionally got points from Finn Evans, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Cameron Searles also scored for St. Michaels. Other players who recorded assists for St. Michaels were David Martino, Lucas Derose, Sean Kohler, Colton Trumbla, and Cameron Wright, who each chipped in one.

The Blades excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. St. Michaels was unable to stop Oakville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

Oakville was led by Josh Kosack, who had one goal and one assist. Kosack scored short handed 2:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oakville. An interference call on Patrick Kudla put the Blades on the penalty kill. Drew Worrad picked up the assist. Oakville also had goals scored by Oliver Benwel and Jackson Bales, who scored one goal each. In addition, Oakville received assists from Brendan Doherty, Ethan Nother, Brayden Sampson, Peyton Reeves, and Christian Rajic, who contributed one each.

Jacob McGrath rejected 44 shots on goal for the Buzzers. St. Michaels incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Botiz recorded 27 saves for Oakville. The Blades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
