Trenton downs Burlington, 3-1

Danny Hanlon tallied one point to lead the Trenton Golden Hawks to a 3-1 victory over the Burlington Cougars.

Trenton kept Burlington's goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Lee made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Others who scored for Trenton included Mitch Emerson and Ben Scheel, who scored one goal each. In addition, Trenton received assists from Hunter Fargey, who had two and Brandon Marinelli, Jordan Chard, and Mac Lewis, who contributed one each.

The Cougars managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Burlington finished below its season average of 12.0 penalty minutes per game. The Cougars did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Burlington averages 4.3 goals per game.

The Cougars were led by Daniel Volpe, who scored the team's only goal. Volpe scored 19:35 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Trenton. Jack Jeffers provided the assist.

The Golden Hawks' Daniel Urbani stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Trenton ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Burlington registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
