Whitby beats Toronto Patriots 5-3 as Keenan gets hat trick

A hat trick by Luke Keenan was the highlight in Fury's 5-3 win against the Toronto Patriots Patriots.

Keenan got on the scoresheet 14:51 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:59 into the first and at 14:37 into the third.

Whitby also got points from Davis Kuksis, who also registered one goal and one assist. Whitby also got a goal from Jonathan OHara as well. Other players who recorded assists for Whitby were Ryan Taylor, who had two, Scott Kirton, who had three, and Justin Allen, Jacob Durham, Rylee McKinnon, and Kevin Dimagno, who each chipped in one.

Toronto Patriots put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Whitby Fury to score on any of their four power plays.

The Patriots were helped by Jordan Anderson, who grabbed one goal. Anderson scored 2:14 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Whitby. Marco Bozzo assisted on the tally. Toronto Patriots additionally got points from Bozzo, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Michael Siddall also scored for Toronto Patriots. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Tyler Currie, Nico Gonzalez, Nicholas Ursitti, Jack Lyons, and Jeremy Pullara, who contributed one each.

Whitby's Jordon White stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Fury incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Whitby, White was ejected from the game. Jacob Standen made 24 saves for Toronto Patriots on 29 shots. The Patriots totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Toronto Patriots ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Anderson was ejected from the game.
