Newmarket downs Lindsay in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Lindsay Recreation Centre Fri, Sep 18, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Nick Kalpousos gave the Newmarket Hurricanes a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Lindsay Muskies when he scored 4:57 into the extra period. Newmarket came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Hurricanes fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Lindsay's Kristopher Diclemente at 15:20 in the second period. Newmarket knotted things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Christian Dedonato at 15:13 in the third period. The Hurricanes were paced by Kalpousos, who had one goal. Newmarket's offense rang up 35 shots on the Muskies' net. The Hurricanes were held back by their power play unit, which tallied one goal on nine chances. The defensemen of Newmarket were also effective in Lindsay's zone, and came away with two goals. Curtis Harvey also scored for Newmarket. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Mitchell Duggan, Adam Smith, Dallas Baird, and Jonathan Colley, who each chipped in one. The Muskies could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. Lindsay was helped by Zach Treen, who racked up one goal. Treen scored 6:55 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Lindsay. Cameron Harris provided the assist. More assists for Lindsay came via Cedric Ralph, who had one. Dalton Ewing made 19 saves for the Hurricanes on 21 shots. Newmarket incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Boyd Diclemente rejected 32 shots on goal for the Muskies. Lindsay registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
