Aurora beats St. Michaels 1-0 as Brooks-Potts gains shutout

Alex Brooks-Potts made 26 saves to complete the shutout and led the Aurora Tigers to a 1-0 win against the St. Michaels Buzzers.

Alex Formenton's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 9:51 in the third period. Alex Boudreau assisted on the tally.

St. Michaels' power play was ineffective against Aurora's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Tigers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Aurora was held below its usual level of production. The Tigers put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Aurora's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Tigers allow 2.9 goals per game. Aurora's offense rang up 32 shots on the Buzzers' net.

More assists for Aurora came via Todd Winder, who had one.

St. Michaels' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Aurora power plays. The Buzzers' offense operated below their season average. St. Michaels averages 2.6 goals per game.

The Tigers incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jacob McGrath rejected 31 shots on goal for the Buzzers. St. Michaels incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Buzzers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Thomas Beretta was ejected from the game.
