The Aurora Tigers, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Stouffville Spirit and clinched a 3-1 victory. Aurora led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Tigers' Evan Kearns scored at 19:18 in the third period to put Aurora up 4-1. The Tigers were paced by Dante Sapgnuolo, who racked up one goal. Sapgnuolo scored 5:38 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Aurora. Keegan Matthew picked up the assist. Aurora put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Stouffville to score on any of its five power plays. The Spirit were unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Aurora eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Aurora also had goals scored by Kyle Locke and Alex Formenton, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Daniel Mantenuto, Jonathan Malowney, and Jordan DaSilva, who contributed one each. Stouffville was led by Nathan Hudgin, who scored the team's only goal. Hudgin scored 5:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stouffville. Robert Clark assisted on the tally. Alex Brooks-Potts made 19 saves for the Tigers on 20 shots. Aurora incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Aaron Taylor recorded 31 saves for the Spirit. Stouffville incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
