The Whitby Fury used a sparkling performance by Jordon White to take down the Markham Royals, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Whitby's 3-0 shutout victory. Markham's power play was ineffective against the Fury's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Whitby's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Markham power plays. The Fury's defense was surprisingly good. Whitby averages 3.0 goals allowed per game. The Fury's offense rang up 36 shots on the Royals' net. Whitby was helped by Nik Coric, who finished with one goal. Coric scored 1:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Whitby. Davis Kuksis picked up the assist. Whitby also got points from Ryan Taylor, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Whitby also got a goal from Scott Kirton as well. More assists for Whitby came via Luke Keenan, who had two and Ryan Porter and Kevin Dimagno, who each chipped in one. Markham was held below its usual level of production.
