Lindsay beats Pickering 3-0 as Diclemente gains shutout

Boyd Diclemente recorded a shutout against the Pickering Panthers as the Lindsay Muskies picked up a 3-0 win.

Lindsay pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 44 penalty minutes.

The Muskies were sparked by Nick Isaacson, who had one goal. Isaacson scored 7:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lindsay. Christian Vella picked up the assist.

Lindsay's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Pickering power plays. The Muskies was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Lindsay allows 2.5 goals per game.

Others who scored for Lindsay included Hunter Hotrum and Stuart Fierheller, who each put in one. More assists for Lindsay came via Owen Barnett, Cameron Robinson, William Ward, and Austin Eastman, who contributed one each.

Pickering forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 11 minors and two majors for 62 minutes in penalty time. The Panthers surpassed its season average of 39.0 penalty minutes per game. Pickering's offense rang up 43 shots on the Muskies' net.

Lindsay's Diclemente stopped 43 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Muskies registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. For Lindsay, Fierheller and Ward were ejected from the contest. Mathew Woroniuk rejected 22 shots on goal for the Panthers. Team's Doug Carter, Aidan Parker, and Paul Giusti were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
