Daniel DeSousa had two goals and two assists to lead the Mississauga Chargers to a 6-2 victory over the Oakville Blades. DeSousa found the back of the net on the power play 9:45 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Mississauga and again while on the power play 17:00 into the third to make the score 6-2 Mississauga.Mississauga forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 11 minors and one major for 57 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 28.0 minutes per game the Chargers had been spending in the box. Mississauga took advantage of Oakville's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities. The Chargers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Mississauga also got points from Kevin Bray, who also had one goal and one assist, Stefano Alonzi, who also finished with one goal and three assists, and Scott Docherty, who also registered one goal and two assists. Mississauga also got a goal from Kyler Matthews as well. More assists for Mississauga came via Steve Mariani, Francesco Luca, Michael Dischiavi, and Thomas Lattavo, who each chipped in one. The Blades forced Mississauga goalie Tyler Richardson to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Oakville was helped by Eric Holland, who racked up one goal. Holland scored on the power play 7:02 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Mississauga. The Blades had gained a power play chance when Mariani was whistled for cross checking. Patrick Kudla picked up the assist. Brendan DAgostino also scored for Oakville. Other players who recorded assists for Oakville were Brayden Sampson and Christian Rajic, who contributed one each. The Chargers' Richardson stopped 43 shots out of the 45 that he faced. For Mississauga, Brandon Yeamans was ejected from the game. Michael Botiz rejected 24 shots on goal for Oakville. The Blades incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Oakville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brendan Doherty was ejected from the game.
