Georgetown rips Toronto Patriots, 5-1

The Georgetown Raiders were firing on all cylinders against the Toronto Patriots Patriots, and when the final buzzer sounded Raiders emerged with a 5-1 win.

Georgetown was led by goalie Andrew Masters, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Masters will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.58.

Toronto Patriots' power play was ineffective against the Raiders' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Georgetown forced Patriots' goalies to work between the pipes, ripping 33 shots and forcing 28 saves. Sean OReilley made seven stops and Jacob Standen made 21. The Raiders could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Georgetown was led by Brendan Jacome, who finished with one goal and one assist. Jacome scored on the power play 10:58 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown. The Raiders had gotten the advantage when the Patriots' Nick Stuckless was sent off for too many men. Matthew Thom picked up the assist. Georgetown also had goals scored by Arran MacDonald, Jordan Crocker, Josh Dickinson, and Anthony Mota, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Jack Jacome, who had two and Daniel Hardie, Ashur Elliot, Liam Winslow, Lucas Goodman, and Andrew Court, who contributed one each.

Georgetown registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Raiders, Matthew Pyz was ejected from the game. Toronto Patriots incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
