Anthony Baxter gave the Milton Icehawks a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Buffalo Jr. Sabres when he scored 4:00 into the extra period. Chris Cobham had two goals and two assists to lead Milton. Cobham scored the first of his two goals at 9:14 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Milton. Sean Robertson assisted on the tally. Cobham's next tally made the score 4-3 Milton with 10:25 left in the third period. Robertson picked up the assist. Buffalo's power play was ineffective against the Icehawks' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Milton stifled the Jr. Sabres' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Icehawks found themselves short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays. Milton also had goals scored by Jeff Lindsay and Philip Lagunov, who each put in one. More assists for Milton came via Sean Perichak and Chris Martin, who contributed one each. Buffalo forced Milton goalie Marcus Semiao to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Jr. Sabres were led by Brenden Dunning, who racked up two goals and one assist. Dunning scored the first of his two goals at 3:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Buffalo. Zach Evancho assisted on the tally. Dunning's next tally made the score 4-4 with 33 seconds left in the third period. Christopher Berger picked up the assist. Buffalo additionally got points from Evancho, who also registered one goal and one assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Christian Zimmerman as well. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Wilson Vershay, Christian DiFelice, Nicholas Bondra, and Andrew Pizzo, who each chipped in one. The Icehawks' Semiao stopped 33 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Milton registered one goal on one power play opportunities. Tucker Weppner made 19 saves for Buffalo on 24 shots. The Jr. Sabres incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
