Toronto Jr. Canadiens outlasts Mississauga, 4-3

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens and the Mississauga Chargers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Toronto Jr. Canadiens made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

The Junior Canadiens gained the winning advantage on a goal by Lucas Colalillo 5:57 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was led by Colalillo, who racked up one goal and one assist.

The Junior Canadiens excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Toronto Jr. Canadiens forced Mississauga goalie Tyler Richardson to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got points from Adam DeLuca, who also registered one goal and one assist and Justin Maiolino, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got a goal from Anthony Trujillo as well. In addition, Toronto Jr. Canadiens received assists from Andrew Mullen, who had one and Andrew Pucci and Nicholas Jarzabek, who contributed two each.

The Chargers were helped by Brandon Yeamans, who grabbed one goal. Yeamans scored 2:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississauga. Steve Mariani provided the assist. Others who scored for Mississauga included Scott Docherty and Alexandros Acosta, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Mississauga were Ryan Markovic, Kevin Bray, and Stefano Alonzi, who each chipped in one.

Daniel Lopapa rejected 24 shots on goal for the Junior Canadiens. Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Richardson recorded 33 saves for Mississauga. The Chargers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. For Mississauga, Markovic was ejected from the game.
