Koopa 2's comeback falls short, McLovin wins 5-3

Koopa two almost clawed its way back from a three-goal deficit, but McLovin managed to pull out a 5-3 win in the end.

McLovin led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when McLovin's Ray Tavan Ho scored at 12:28 in the second period to put McLovin up 5-2.

The win gave McLovin a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

McLovin was led by Banyon Rathwell, who registered one goal and two assists. Rathwell scored 7:51 into the second period to make the score 3-2 McLovin. McLovin also got points from Ho, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Bruce Kong, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. McLovin also had goals scored by David Ng and Lawson Wong, who scored one goal each. More assists for McLovin came via Dang Huynh, who had two.

Koopa two's offense rang up 40 shots on McLovin's net.

Koopa two was led by Peter Wong, who had one goal and two assists. Wong scored 3:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Koopa two. Eric Chow provided the assist. Others who scored for Koopa two included Gordon Tan and John Hoang, who each put in one.

Michael Der made 37 saves for McLovin on 40 shots. McLovin incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Koopa two's Hoi Leung stopped 25 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Koopa two incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
