Patrick Payne lifted Boulevard Boys to a 6-1 victory with a hat trick against Voodoo.

Payne got on the scoresheet 10:29 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:47 into the second and at 12:59 into the second.

The win gave Boulevard Boys a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Boulevard Boys was led by goalie Kevin Cameron, who finished with 41 saves while allowing one goal. Cameron managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.5 prior to the game.

Boulevard Boys stifled Voodoo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Voodoo was led by Danny Banting, who scored the team's only goal. Banting scored 5:10 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Boulevard Boys. Matthew Berezan assisted on the tally.

Boulevard Boys incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ibu Sharif rejected 21 shots on goal for Voodoo. Voodoo totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Voodoo ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jordan Davies was ejected from the game.
