Behind two goals and one assist from Landon Lee and two goals and two assists from Jason Dhatt, Devils downed Shane OBeautys 6-3.

Lee scored the first of his two goals at 14:19 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Shane OBeautys. Dhatt assisted on the tally. Lee's next tally made the score 5-3 Devils with 52 seconds left in the second period. Rajin Khera picked up the assist. Dhatt scored the first of his two goals at 13:10 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Dhatt's next tally made the score 6-3 Devils with 44 seconds left in the second period.

The win gave Devils a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Devils' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Shane OBeautys power plays. Devils kept Shane OBeautys' goalie busy throughout the game, and Glen Krauser made 30 saves on 36 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Devils additionally got points from Khera, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Dhatt, who also racked up two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. David Cowling also scored for Devils. More assists for Devils came via Kevin Fenwick, who had one.

Shane OBeautys was led by Colin Mcgrath, who tallied two goals. Mcgrath scored the first of his two goals at 10:54 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jackson Chandler assisted on the tally. Mcgrath's next tally made the score 3-1 Shane OBeautys with 6:07 left in the first period. Spencer Smyl picked up the assist. Shane OBeautys also got a goal from David Hirst as well. In addition, Shane OBeautys received assists from Miles Coleman, Michael Buchan, and Alex Jardine, who each chipped in one.

Devils' Inderpal Bhachu stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Devils incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Shane OBeautys incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
