Road Warriors survives SGO Hockey Club comeback, wins 4-3

SGO Hockey Club almost clawed its way back from a three-goal deficit, but Road Warriors managed to pull out a 4-3 win in the end.

Road Warriors led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Road Warriors' fahim Kanji scored on the power play at 10:00 in the first period to put Road Warriors up 4-1.

The win gave Road Warriors a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Road Warriors got the win on the strength of a great game by Brent Magee, who had one goal and two assists. Magee scored 4:34 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Road Warriors. Nathan Gibbs picked up the assist.

In the losing effort, SGO Hockey Club was led by Edwin Leung, who grabbed two goals. Leung scored the first of his two goals at 13:39 into the first period to make the score 4-2 Road Warriors. Ying Joe assisted on the tally. Leung's next tally made the score 4-3 Road Warriors with 46 seconds left in the first period. Colman Tam picked up the assist.

Road Warriors also got points from Gibbs, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Road Warriors also got a goal from Derick Mort as well. More assists for Road Warriors came via Shaun Krahn, who had one and John Chieng, who had two.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Edward Kanna also scored for SGO Hockey Club.

Hoi Leung recorded 22 saves for Road Warriors. Road Warriors incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mike Lo made 17 saves for SGO Hockey Club on 21 shots. SGO Hockey Club incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
