Gill leads RMC over Glacier, 6-2

Behind a great game by Gurbir Gary Gill, who had one goal and three assists, RMC defeated Glacier, 6-2.

Gill got on the board by slotting home a goal 1:03 into the second period to make the score 3-2 RMC. Eric Luk provided the assist. Gill dished an assist on Andrew Yamada's goal that made the score 2-1 Glacier at 13:58 into the first period. He then added assists on James Ujimoto's goal at 5:46 into the second and on Edmund Chow's goal at 13:34 into the second.

The win gave RMC a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

RMC excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. RMC forced Glacier goalie Will Chaster to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The defensemen of RMC were also effective in Glacier's zone, and came away with two goals.

RMC also got points from Chow, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Stanley HC Ho, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Ujimoto, who also finished with one goal and one assist. RMC also got a goal from Frank Pang as well. More assists for RMC came via Chris Umemura, who had two.

RMC was unable to stop Glacier from sending pucks towards the net, and Glacier eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Glacier was led by Theo Kozniuk, who had one goal and one assist. Kozniuk scored 36 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Glacier. Dale Harvey assisted on the tally. Glacier also had goals scored by Scott Mackenzie and Ted Baggott, who scored one goal each.

Amritpal Gill rejected 29 shots on goal for RMC. RMC incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Chaster recorded 27 saves for Glacier.
