Villains survives Mad Hatters comeback, wins 5-3

Villains came close to giving away a three-goal lead to Mad Hatters, but did just enough to escape with a 5-3 victory.

Villains led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Villains' Stephen Tetreau scored short handed at 4:18 in the second period to put Villains up 4-1.

The win gave Villains a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Villains got the win with help from a great game by Tetreau, who had two goals and one assist. Tetreau scored the first of his two goals at 19:52 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Villains. David Lo picked up the assist. Tetreau's next tally made the score 4-1 Villains with 15:42 left in the second period. Villains was on a disadvantage when Rocco Ngai went off the ice for tripping.

Villains also got points from Lo, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. Bill Truong also scored for Villains. More assists for Villains came via Paul Chia, who had two and Johnny Low, Gary Ng, and Greg Leong, who each chipped in one.

Mad Hatters was led by Trevor Crane, who racked up three goals. In addition, Mad Hatters received assists from Sean Toronchuk, who had two and Joel Barnabe, Eugene Naldoza, and Jason Brunette, who contributed one each.

Ng rejected 13 shots on goal for Villains. Villains incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Peter Yeadon made 17 saves for Mad Hatters on 22 shots. Mad Hatters incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
