Larson nets hat trick, leads Carleton Place to 6-3 win over Pembroke

The Pembroke Lumber Kings could not stop the Carleton Place Canadians' Jordan Larson, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-3 win.

Larson's first goal came 11:15 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:57 into the first and at 2:30 into the second.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Pembroke faces elimination next time out.

Carleton Place also got points from Andy Sturtz, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Carleton Place also had goals scored by Wesley Baker and Vinny Post, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Carleton Place were AJ Klein, who had two, Tyson Stewart, who had three, and David Eccles, Willie Brooks, and Alex Robinson, who each chipped in one.

The Lumber Kings were helped by Hudson Michaelis, who grabbed one goal. Michaelis scored on the power play 2:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. Pembroke had gained a power play chance when Devin Campbell was whistled for interference. Adam Beveridge provided the assist. Others who scored for Pembroke included Stephen Cooney and Alexandre Boivin, who each put in one. More assists for Pembroke came via Anthony Nellis, who had two and Ryan Casselman and Adam Dauda, who contributed one each.

Guillaume Therien made 25 saves for Carleton Place on 28 shots. The Canadians incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jordan Piccolino took the loss and made 15 saves before being replaced by Sean Green who made six saves. The Lumber Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
