The Carleton Place Canadians came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Pembroke Lumber Kings, but did just enough to escape with a 5-3 victory. Carleton Place led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Canadians' Ryker Killins scored at 12:42 in the first period to put Carleton Place up 4-1. The win by the Canadians broke a deadlock and gave Carleton Place a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series. The Canadians kept Pembroke's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jordan Piccolino made 26 saves on 31 shots. Carleton Place was led by Vinny Post, who tallied one goal and three assists. Post scored 19:34 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Carleton Place. Stephen Baylis picked up the assist. Carleton Place also got points from Baylis, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Killins, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Carleton Place included David Eccles and Connor Merkley, who scored one goal each. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Willie Brooks, Wesley Baker, and Andrew Dodson, who each chipped in one. The Lumber Kings stifled the Canadians' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pembroke was led by Alexandre Boivin, who had two goals and one assist. Boivin scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:16 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Lumber Kings had gained a power play chance when Adam Lloyd was whistled for slashing. Hudson Michaelis provided the assist. Boivin's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Carleton Place with 10:23 left in the third period. Pembroke found itself down a man on Piccolino's unsportsmanlike conduct. Anthony Nellis picked up the assist. Jesse Blais also scored for Pembroke. More assists for Pembroke came via Ryan Casselman, who had one. Guillaume Therien recorded 23 saves for Carleton Place. The Canadians incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Lumber Kings incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
