GAME RECAP

LaSalle uses early goal to top Elmira, 3-1

Dan Snyder Memorial    Sun, Apr 19, 2015

The LaSalle Vipers beat the Elmira Sugar Kings, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

Daniel Beaudoin provided LaSalle with the game-winning tally when he scored 3:59 into the first period. Brendan Harrogate picked up the assist.

The win by the Vipers clinched the best of seven series at 4-3.

Beaudoin had a great game for LaSalle, netting two goals.

The Vipers' Paolo Battisti was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 37 saves and let only one puck past him. Battisti certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.16 entering the contest.

LaSalle's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Elmira power plays.

LaSalle also got a goal from Tyler Russell as well. Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Korey Morgan, Nathan Savage, and Manny Silverio, who each chipped in one.

The Vipers were unable to stop Elmira from sending pucks towards the net, and the Sugar Kings eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Elmira was led by Connor Hall, who scored the team's only goal. Hall scored 8:09 into the second period to make the score 2-1 LaSalle. Brendan Schneider assisted on the tally.

LaSalle incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Jonathan Reinhart rejected 26 shots on goal for the Sugar Kings. Elmira incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
