Elmira falls to LaSalle in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The LaSalle Vipers' Korey Morgan scored 5:58 into overtime to beat the Elmira Sugar Kings, 4-3 (OT).

With the win, LaSalle evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

Elmira's power play was ineffective against the Vipers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

LaSalle was led by Morgan, who registered one goal and one assist.

The Vipers stifled the Sugar Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. LaSalle forced Elmira goalie Jonathan Reinhart to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

LaSalle also got points from Daniel Beaudoin, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for LaSalle included Mark Manchurek and Brendan Harrogate, who each put in one. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Nicolas Crescenzi, who had two and Nikko Sablone, Nathan Savage, and Nathan Veres, who each chipped in one.

The Sugar Kings' offense rang up 46 shots on the Vipers' net. Elmira did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

The Sugar Kings were helped by Brendan Schneider, who had one goal. Schneider scored 7:02 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Marselis Subban assisted on the tally. Elmira also had goals scored by Steven Jakiela and Mitch Wright, who scored one goal each. More assists for Elmira came via Sam Harris, Mitch Klie, and Chad Herron, who contributed one each.

Paolo Battisti made 43 saves for LaSalle on 46 shots. The Vipers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For LaSalle, Manchurek and Harrogate were ejected from the contest. Reinhart recorded 40 saves for Elmira.
