Huge game by Beaudoin boosts LaSalle over Elmira, 7-4Dan Snyder Memorial Sun, Apr 12, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The LaSalle Vipers' Daniel Beaudoin had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 7-4 win over the Elmira Sugar Kings. Beaudoin scored on the power play at 13:42 into the first period to make the score 3-0 LaSalle and again while 17:21 into the third to make the score 6-3 LaSalle.The win moved LaSalle to down 2-1 in the best of seven series. Elmira's power play was ineffective against the Vipers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. LaSalle excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Vipers forced the Sugar Kings goalie Jonathan Reinhart to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. LaSalle additionally got points from Nathan Savage, who also finished with two goals and one assist and Brendan Harrogate, who also registered one goal and one assist. LaSalle also had goals scored by Connor Matton and Tyler Russell, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Chris Pignanelli, who had two and Nathan Veres, Liam McDougall, and Dalton Langlois, who each chipped in one. LaSalle was unable to stop Elmira from sending pucks towards the net, and the Sugar Kings eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The defensemen of Elmira were also effective in the Vipers' zone, and came away with three goals. The Sugar Kings were helped by Rob Kohli, who tallied one goal. Kohli scored 9:13 into the second period to make the score 4-2 LaSalle. Mitch Klie assisted on the tally. Elmira also got points from Adam Brubacher, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Elmira included Brodie Whitehead and Marselis Subban, who each put in one. In addition, Elmira received assists from Ethan Skinner, Cash Seraphim, Mitch Wright, and Brendan Schneider, who contributed one each. Paolo Battisti made 28 saves for LaSalle on 32 shots. The Vipers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Reinhart recorded 43 saves for Elmira. The Sugar Kings ended with 47 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors and one major. Elmira ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Whitehead was ejected from the game.
