Di Salvo stymies Pensacola, Mississippi RiverKings wins 2-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Peter Di Salvo helped Mississippi RiverKings defeat the Pensacola Ice Flyers, 2-1.

The win by Mississippi RiverKings clinched the best of three series at 2-1.

Mississippi RiverKings was led by Devin Mantha, who grabbed one goal. Mantha scored 4:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Mississippi RiverKings. Bryon Paulazzo assisted on the tally.

Leo Thomas also scored for Mississippi RiverKings. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Matt Harrington and Andrew Randazzo, who each chipped in one.

Pensacola excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Ice Flyers kept Mississippi RiverKings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Di Salvo made 39 saves on 40 shots.

Pensacola was led by Corey Banfield, who scored the team's only goal. Banfield scored 19:52 into the third period to make the score 2-2.

Mississippi RiverKings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Max Strang made 25 saves for the Ice Flyers on 27 shots. Pensacola incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
