The Peoria Rivermen had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-0 win over the Louisiana IceGators. With the win, Peoria avoided elimination to make the series score 1-1 in the best of three series. The Rivermen got the win behind a great game by Mike Gurtler, who had one goal and two assists. Gurtler scored on the power play 7:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Peoria. Peoria had taken the advantage when Louisiana's Jeremy Boyer got sent off for slashing. Jason Cohen assisted on the tally. The Rivermen's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Louisiana power plays. Peoria kept the IceGators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Scott Diebold made 31 saves on 35 shots. Peoria also had goals scored by Garrett Vermeersch, Jake Trask, and Matt Summers, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Steve Morra, Josh Harris, Alec Hagaman, and Alex Hudson, who contributed one each. Louisiana was led by Brian Berger, who took three shots. The Rivermen's Kyle Rank stopped 21 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Peoria incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The IceGators incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
