El Paso Rhinos squeaks by Ogden Mustangs, 3-2

El Paso Rhinos and Ogden Mustangs were evenly matched throughout their contest, but El Paso Rhinos made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by David Brancik at 18:35 of the third period.

The win by El Paso Rhinos clinched the best of three series at 2-0.

El Paso Rhinos got the win with help from a great game by Marek Langhammer, who had one goal and two assists. Langhammer scored 1:00 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Gavin Abbott assisted on the tally.

El Paso Rhinos' penalty kill excelled, as El Paso Rhinos gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

El Paso Rhinos also got points from Abbott, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for El Paso Rhinos were Martin Hanl, who had three.

Ogden Mustangs stifled El Paso Rhinos' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Ogden Mustangs kept El Paso Rhinos' goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Vay made 32 saves on 34 shots.

Ogden Mustangs was helped by Andreas Zollner, who had one goal. Zollner scored 18:16 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Jon Mencer picked up the assist. Ogden Mustangs also got a goal from Clay Cross as well. In addition, Ogden Mustangs received assists from Corey Iapalucci, Edvin Johansson, and Schuyler Seyfert, who contributed one each.

El Paso Rhinos totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Andreas Pettersson recorded 19 saves for Ogden Mustangs. Ogden Mustangs ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
