Fresno Monsters tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Idaho Junior Steelheads held on for a 3-1 victory.

Idaho Junior Steelheads made the score 3-0 on a goal by Macky Power at 7:59 in the third period, and Fresno Monsters got as close as 3-1 when Conner Hyden scored 19:47 into the third period.

The win by Idaho Junior Steelheads clinched the best of three series at 2-0.

Fresno Monsters was stymied by Idaho Junior Steelheads' netminder Tyler Hough, who stopped 28 shots during the victory. Despite the solid performance, Hough will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.9 entering the contest.
