Caledonia completes comeback, beats St. Catharines, 4-3

The Caledonia Corvairs climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the St. Catharines Falcons, 4-3.

Caledonia never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Corvairs was down 3-1 after a goal by St. Catharines' Ryan Doucette at 29 seconds in the third period. Caledonia tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Tyler Lepore at 2:27 in the third period. The Corvairs netted the game winner at 7:47 in the third period on a goal by Lepore.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, the Falcons face elimination next time out.

Lepore had two goals to lead Caledonia to victory.

The Corvairs forced St. Catharines goalie Jonathan D Ilario to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

Caledonia also got points from Matthew Hore, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jake Brown also scored for Caledonia. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Erick Delaurentis, who had two and Riley Vanhorne and Connor Patton, who contributed one each.

The Falcons were helped by Bradley Lee APM, who had one goal. Lee APM scored 12:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines. Brandon Cercone picked up the assist. St. Catharines also got a goal from Jake Evans as well. More assists for St. Catharines came via Tyler Morrison, Brett Brooker, and Devon Rymarchuk, who each chipped in one.

Kevin Entmaa rejected 23 shots on goal for Caledonia. The Corvairs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. St. Catharines' D Ilario stopped 39 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Falcons incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. St. Catharines ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cam Blakely was ejected from the game.
