St. Catharines downs Caledonia in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The St. Catharines Falcons pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Caledonia Corvairs on a clutch goal by Tyler Morrison.

The win moved St. Catharines to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

Morrison was all over the ice for the Falcons, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Morrison scored the first of his two goals at 48 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines. Manny Manns assisted on the tally. Morrison's next tally made the score 4-3 St. Catharines with 7:00 left in. St. Catharines earned a power play opportunity when Connor Patton was put in the box for tripping. Brandon Cercone picked up the assist.

The Falcons' offense rang up 36 shots on Caledonia's net. St. Catharines struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Corvairs to score two power play goals on three chances.

Others who scored for St. Catharines included Connor Timmins and Scott Grieve AP, who each put in one. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Justin Felker, who had two and Broderick Kelly, Cam Blakely, and Devon Rymarchuk, who contributed one each.

Caledonia forced Falcons' goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 65 shots and forcing 62 saves. Jonathan D Ilario made 45 stops and Ben Csiernik made 17. The Corvairs' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to the Falcons' power play unit.

Caledonia was led by Tyler Lepore, who had one goal and two assists. Lepore scored on the power play 17:38 into the second period to make the score 3-3. A goalie interference penalty on Paolo De Sousa had put the Corvairs on the power play. Ryan Blunt provided the assist. Caledonia additionally got points from Blunt, who also registered one goal and one assist. Caledonia also got a goal from Matthew Hore as well. More assists for Caledonia came via Erick Delaurentis, who had three.

St. Catharines incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kevin Entmaa rejected 32 shots on goal for Caledonia. The Corvairs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
