Brantford downs Dundas in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Brantford Civic Centre Tue, Mar 24, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Andrew Marcoux gave the Brantford Blast a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Dundas Real McCoys when he scored 13:16 into the extra period. With the win, Brantford avoided elimination to make the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series. Jamie Williams had a great game for the Blast, netting two goals. Williams scored at 12:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 11:06 into the third to make the score 3-3. Dundas' power play was ineffective against Brantford's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Blast's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Dundas power plays. The Real McCoys were unable to stop Brantford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blast eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Brantford also got a goal from Derek Medeiros as well. In addition, Brantford received assists from Chris Rebernik, who had two and Mark Taylor, Jeff Caister, and Chris Leveille, who contributed one each. Dundas stifled Brantford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Real McCoys kept the Blast's goalie busy throughout the game, and Anthony Marshall made 28 saves on 31 shots. Dundas was led by Derek Matheson, who racked up one goal and two assists. Matheson scored 5:03 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Greg Stewart picked up the assist. Dundas also got points from Shawn Snider, who also had one goal and one assist. Chris McGuffin also scored for Dundas. More assists for Dundas came via Brad Bonello, who had one. Brantford incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mike Mole made 38 saves for the Real McCoys on 42 shots. Dundas incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
