GAME RECAP

Brantford rolls over Dundas, 4-1

Brantford Civic Centre    Fri, Mar 20, 2015

The Brantford Blast had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Dundas Real McCoys.

The win moved Brantford to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

The Blast put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Dundas to score on any of its three power plays. The Real McCoys were unable to stop Brantford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blast eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Brantford was led by Cam Sault, who finished with two goals and one assist. Sault scored the first of his two goals at 8:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Brantford. Mark Taylor provided the assist. Sault's next tally made the score 4-1 Brantford with 11:02 left in the third period. A high sticking call on Chris Rebernik put the Blast on the penalty kill. Jeff Caister picked up the assist. Mike Burgoyne also scored for Brantford. More assists for Brantford came via Derek Medeiros and Ryan McCarthy, who each chipped in one.

Dundas was led by Jeff White, who scored the team's only goal. White scored 15:50 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Brantford. Brett Smith assisted on the tally.

Brantford's Brett Leggat stopped 21 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Blast incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mike Mole made 33 saves for the Real McCoys on 37 shots. Dundas incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
