Ogden Mustangs falls to Casper Coyotes in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Casper Coyotes' Kasper Elo scored 15:27 into overtime to beat Ogden Mustangs, 3-2 (OT).

With the win, Casper Coyotes avoided elimination to make the series score 1-1 in the best of three series.

Casper Coyotes' penalty kill excelled, as Casper Coyotes gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Casper Coyotes was paced by Elo, who had one goal.

Casper Coyotes stifled Ogden Mustangs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Ogden Mustangs was unable to stop Casper Coyotes from sending pucks towards the net, and Casper Coyotes eventually piled up 66 shots on goal.

Casper Coyotes additionally got points from Viktor Thim, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Casper Coyotes also got a goal from Eric Andersson as well. In addition, Casper Coyotes received assists from Eetu Tikkanen, Erik Stenbacka, and Austin Parrish, who each chipped in one.

Ogden Mustangs forced Casper Coyotes goalie Rikard Landfeldt to work between the pipes, taking 59 shots.

Ogden Mustangs was helped by Caleb Pola, who registered one goal. Pola scored 3:14 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Andreas Zollner picked up the assist. Alex Forbes also scored for Ogden Mustangs. More assists for Ogden Mustangs came via Clay Cross and Edvin Johansson, who contributed one each.

Landfeldt recorded 57 saves for Casper Coyotes. Casper Coyotes totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Ogden Mustangs' Christoffer Sj���� stopped 63 shots out of the 66 that he faced. Ogden Mustangs ended with 38 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. Ogden Mustangs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jakob Engvall was ejected from the game.
