El Paso Rhinos beats Oklahoma City Blazers 8-2 as Rezaeepour gets hat trick

Jeramy Rezaeepour netted a hat trick to lead El Paso Rhinos over Oklahoma City Blazers, 8-2.

Rezaeepour got on the scoresheet 4:07 into the second period. He then added goals at 7:34 into the third and at 13:04 into the third.

With the win, El Paso Rhinos avoided elimination to make the series score 1-1 in the best of three series.

El Paso Rhinos forced Oklahoma City Blazers' goalies to work in net, finishing with 37 shots and forcing 29 saves. Jakub Krejci made 22 stops and Braden Lajoie made seven. The defensemen of El Paso Rhinos were also effective in Oklahoma City Blazers' zone, and came away with two goals.

El Paso Rhinos also got points from Robert Horak, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points and Lukas Znosko, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for El Paso Rhinos included Brennan Johnsson, Jonah Pearson, and Jiri Pestuka, who each put in one. More assists for El Paso Rhinos came via Patrik Stancl, Bryton Tomko, Jordan Cullum, and Mitch Cobby, who contributed one each and Marek Langhammer, Kendal Craig, and Martin Hanl, who each chipped in two.

Oklahoma City Blazers was led by Petr Kobes, who had one goal. Kobes scored on the power play 3:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oklahoma City Blazers. Oklahoma City Blazers had gotten the advantage when El Paso Rhinos' Rezaeepour was sent off for high sticking. Dominik Vlk picked up the assist. Oklahoma City Blazers also got a goal from Ivan Bukshevannyy as well. In addition, Oklahoma City Blazers received assists from Luke Galatiuk, Miroslav Pokorny, and Kirill Romanov, who contributed one each.

Adam Vay rejected 24 shots on goal for El Paso Rhinos. El Paso Rhinos incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Oklahoma City Blazers totaled 51 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 2-for-8 on the power play.
