Huge game by Sevcenko boosts Idaho Junior Steelheads over Missoula Maulers, 4-1McCalls Manchester Ice Sun, Mar 22, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Arturs Sevcenko was all over the ice for Idaho Junior Steelheads, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Idaho Junior Steelheads' 4-1 win over Missoula Maulers. Sevcenko beat Aron Holmgren with a shot 16:45 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Idaho Junior Steelheads. Victor Carlsson assisted on the tally. Sevcenko dished an assist on Johannes Yucel's goal that made the score 1-1 at 15:21 into the second period. He added another helper on Ondrej Valo's goal that made the score 3-1 Idaho Junior Steelheads at 6:23 into the third period.With the win, Idaho Junior Steelheads avoided elimination to make the series score 1-2 in the best of three series. Idaho Junior Steelheads' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Missoula Maulers power plays. Missoula Maulers was unable to stop Idaho Junior Steelheads from sending pucks towards the net, and Idaho Junior Steelheads eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Idaho Junior Steelheads also got points from Yucel, who also registered one goal and one assist. Idaho Junior Steelheads also got a goal from Kris Apsitis as well. Other players who recorded assists for Idaho Junior Steelheads were Parker Lewis, Dimitris Jones, and Kyle Williams, who contributed one each. Missoula Maulers' offense was handcuffed by Idaho Junior Steelheads' defensive play, and Missoula Maulers managed only nine shots on goal during the game.
