Fresno Monsters downs Valencia Flyers, 7-3

Brantt Heble racked up one point to lead Fresno Monsters to a 7-3 victory over Valencia Flyers.

With the win, Fresno Monsters avoided elimination to make the series score 1-2 in the best of three series.

In a losing effort, Valencia Flyers was paced by Blake Aguilar, who registered two goals. Aguilar scored the first of his two goals at 13:58 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Fresno Monsters. Luc Whyte assisted on the tally. Aguilar's next tally made the score 2-2 with 4:13 left in the first period. Whyte picked up the assist.

Fresno Monsters put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Valencia Flyers to score on any of its four power plays. Valencia Flyers was unable to stop Fresno Monsters from sending pucks towards the net, and Fresno Monsters eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

Fresno Monsters additionally got points from Jacob Haynes, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Mike Nolan, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Gianmarco Guidon, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Conner Hyden, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Fresno Monsters also had goals scored by Parker Olson and Mitchell Dolman, who scored one goal each. More assists for Fresno Monsters came via Corey Munro, Michael Freeman, and Kyle Jelinski, who each chipped in one and Carter Dahl and Austin Browning, who contributed two each.

Dawson Keay also scored for Valencia Flyers. Other players who recorded assists for Valencia Flyers were Eddie Cordero, Chase Thesman, and Adam Papayoanou, who each chipped in one.

Nathan Churchill made 25 saves for Fresno Monsters on 28 shots. Fresno Monsters incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Valencia Flyers' Silvan Delb stopped 41 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Valencia Flyers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
