Marcuzzi lifts MISSISSAUGA over WHITBY, 3-0Iroquois - Rink#1 Sun, Mar 15, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Natalie Marcuzzi had two goals to lead MISSISSAUGA to a 3-0 victory over WHITBY. Marcuzzi scored at 2:57 into the second period to make the score 1-0 MISSISSAUGA and again while 6:11 into the second to make the score 2-0 MISSISSAUGA.With the win, MISSISSAUGA evened the series at 1-1 in the best of five showdown. Lin Han frustrated WHITBY's offense all game, and stopped 27 shots en route to a shutout. Han managed to improve on her goals against average, which stood at 1.81 prior to the game. MISSISSAUGA did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time. MISSISSAUGA also got a goal from Ashlee Lawrence as well. In addition, MISSISSAUGA received assists from Nadine Edney (A), who had two and Stephanie Sucharda (A), Shana Walker, Kyra Colbert, and Gabby Smyth, who each chipped in one. WHITBY's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five MISSISSAUGA power plays. WHITBY's starting goalie, Emma Schram, made 15 saves and finished with the loss before she was taken out in favor of Rachel McQuigge, who stopped 11 shots. WHITBY incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
